Nova Scotia Cultural Society of the Deaf
The Nova Scotia Cultural Society of the Deaf (NSCSD) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving, celebrating, and promoting Deaf culture, heritage, and Maritime Sign Language (MSL) throughout Nova Scotia. Since its founding, the Society has served as a gathering place for Deaf, hard of hearing, deafblind, and signing communities while fostering understanding and inclusion across the province.
NSCSD provides opportunities for community connection through cultural events, educational programs, social activities, leadership development, and advocacy. The Society is committed to preserving the rich history of the Deaf community in Nova Scotia while supporting future generations through collaboration, awareness, and cultural pride.
As a community-driven organization, NSCSD welcomes Deaf, hard of hearing, hearing, and signing allies who share a commitment to accessibility, equality, and the recognition of Deaf culture as a vibrant and valuable part of Nova Scotia's diverse heritage.
